The Thames Tideway Tunnel project, also known as the “Super Sewer,” is a stormwater and wastewater treatment project in the City of London. The central section is the longest and most complicated one, where TECOZAM UK has executed almost 13 km of full-section tunnel lining for the entire route under the Thames, passing unique buildings such as the Battersea Power Station, the MI6 Building, the British Parliament, the London Eye, the Tate Modern, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
Work Carried Out:
TecoZam UK has provided four mega structures with a versatile full-section lining formwork system, with a diameter of 7.3 m, executing the tunnel lining on a TBM segment with its own template and formwork equipment.
With a single tunnel access point through the Kirtling Street shaft and 4.8 km and 7.9 km tunnel lengths at each entrance, respectively.
In addition, two highly adaptable steel reinforcing, injection and finishing carriage units have been provided.

Four full-section tunnel lining formwork system prototypes, with an automatic pressure distribution system, which adapt and distribute loads transmitted to the TBM rings, taking into account the geotechnical features of the terrain under the River Thames (clay, sand, gypsum and fault zones).
Patented movement system on bogies with an intelligent PLC system that provides an equal pressure distribution, avoiding overpressure in voussoirs and cracking in the previous lay, concreted 12 hours earlier.
